Complete and Beautiful Barn for Sale This Barn was born in Marengo, Morrow County, Ohio in 1899. It ended up being two blocks from the town square. The town was first settled in 1809. The two story barn measured 26’ x 38’. The barn stayed in such great condition mainly because of the very top quality slate roof that was put on it originally. This roof came of 99.9% intact and the tiles are 14” x 24” with a beautiful Patina. This barn was dismantled by a 76 yr old character and his sons in Mid-Ohio. The siding is hemlock and pine, the structural beam are all Beechwood. Whole barn was put together by mortis and tenon. It has been numbered and stacked with detailed diagrams for reconstruction. There was some dry rot on the sill beams and they have been replaced with material from the same era. There is some dry rot along the bottom edge of the siding but one can add a horizontal trim piece for style. |
