The Butterfly Bus

Heritage Salvage used reclaimed redwood to remodel the interior of Julia Butterfly Hill's "We The Planet"
Prevost bus that runs on biodeisel and veggie oil.
Julia Butterfly and the Bus Converters played live
at our Chicken Shack for 6 weeks, Spring 2005.
After removing the seats and existing interior flooring & walls we framed out new bunks with the welding
assistance of Barry Barber Iron Works. Michael Bock volunteered his woodworking expertise to build the
custom cabintry; fine detailing by Ralph Carlson; Bug & crew built shower, bath, installed radiant floor heating
and a media center and a class of 3rd graders came by one day for lunch to hear Julia tell about her
treesitting adventure. Bug, Nova, Julia, Jeff, Brie, Steve, and a cast of helpful many tripped all
over ourselves 'til something came out the other side!

Julia & crew from the Circle of Life Foundation and their newly remodeled eco-friendly "We The Planet" bus
have already been across the country and back spreading their message and educating folks about
living more sustainably on the planet.
