The kitchen cabinets were remodeled by painting the existing carcasses a forest green, colors and painting by Valerie Deakin. Doors were replaced with cleaned, clear coated and cleated barnwood 1x12’s. The floors were covered with remilled 1x7 t&g wood from the Moscow Granary. The entry ways thru the kitchen and pantry were embellished with curved redwood corbels cut from the leftover 3x12 tankwood used on the main staircase.
The decks were done with reclaimed 2x6 redwood, the overhangs — front and back — were framed with planed old growth full dimension 4x4’s from a Petaluma Chicken Shed. The railings were curved with classic wire strung chicken roosts, power washed and redwood stained. The exterior T-111 was power washed and painted with colors that flowed with the surrounding forest, all low VOC water-based applied by our late great friend Dana! The gardens were fenced with chicken roosts, the raised beds were built with offcuts from a mill, and an old satellite dish is inverted as a Gazebo!
