Our Top Five Favorite Uses For Salvaged Wood
1. Repurposing reclaimed wood for a table is among the most adaptive and interpretive ways to realize the range one can achieve, from a rustic country kitchen farm table to a beautifully refined dining table. You can also let the original patina be a greater part of the legs while the table top necessarily needs to achieve ability to clean. Whether you use redwood barnboard or vinegar tank fir, a windfall slab or a hardwood door you can present it in trestle style, harvest table, turned legs or sawhorse chic!
2. As flooring, salvaged woods take on amazing warmth with talking stories behind them, often full of character and special markings. The hues and patterns acheived with nail holes or incumbent stains from a hops warehouse add a congeniality to your chosen space not attainable with new materials
3. Kitchen remodels, to change the atmosphere of your kitchen, you can salvage the painted patina of old wood and redo your cabinet doors without having to change out your cabinets. Repaint the old cabinet frames and voila! Adding a kitchen island out of a live edged natural slab immediately makes the space inviting. The kitchen has always been one of our favorite places to socialize. add a couple of mismatched stools and your guests will be chopping veggies while trying out that new Syrah!
4. Speaking of Syrah, restaurant interiors of salvaged wood have become the rage! Sustainability in your food, your decor and your message will bring patrons flowing through the doors. The well worn patina of used flooring along with a striking exotic slab as bartop will have you creating restaurant table tops, benches, service counters, wine racks, cabinets and more. Restaurants-are-us!
5. A reclaimed door as wall decor, garden art or fence part or an old divided light paint patina'd window as an art piece is a delightfully simple way to change up your mood or redirect focus!
