There are an unlimited number of opportunities we all have to reuse, recycle and repurose.
Heritage Salvage regularly creates and innovates with reclaimed wood and the materials
that arrive in the Yard daily.
Recently we had a delightful couple; Lindsey and John, arrive interested in creating a beautiful wedding arch out of reclaimed materials. Our team worked with them to craft a beauitful arch out of water tank wood. It is 9 feet tall and 7 feet wide, a gorgeous union of reclaimed wood and weddings! Congratulations to Lindsey and John in their union.

Old Wood from Hops Warehouse Lands in Hops & Hominy Restaurant
Heritage Salvage reclaimed materials from the esteemed John I Haas Hops Warehouse in 2010. The 1924 warehouse yielded materials that have landed as custom tables, flooring, bar and counter tops in Bay Area breweries and restaurants from Lagunitas Brewery and Wild Goat Restaurant in Petaluma, Dean Biersch’s Hop Monk Tavern in Sonoma, Grable Vineyards in Knights Valley, Boca Pizzeria in Novato, and three San Francisco restaurants: Southpaw BBQ, Galette 88, and Hops & Hominy.
Southpaw BBQ Chooses Recycled Building Materials
While sustainable organic food becomes a key ingredient in today’s best restaurants,
sustainable furnishings and décor are right behind. Heritage Salvage has
been providing sustainable restaurant furnishings, flooring and building materials to
Bay Area restaurant designers, architects and owners for years.
It is fantastic to collaborate with fabulous restaurateurs who care about source
of the materials they are using in their spaces. Reclaimed old wood transforms
into beautiful tables and bars with wonderful charm and a talking story
shared over a meal.
WoodTalks, Heritage Salvage Reclaimed Building Materials Go East
Heritage Salvage recently expanded to offer a line of reclaimed douglas fir shiplap wood through a new collaboration partner EcoSupply on the East Coast. At the same we unveiled our new name, WoodTalks, for the many fabulous reclaimed building materials we offer. Afterall, our wood all has a story to tell, and we love that.
For those that may be new to the term shiplap refers to wood planks that were used frequently as interior walls of old homes and buildings by placing them horizontally from floor to ceiling over the 2 X 4 studs.

Our Top Five Favorite Uses For Salvaged Wood
1. Repurposing reclaimed wood for a table is among the most adaptive and interpretive ways to realize the range one can achieve, from a rustic country kitchen farm table to a beautifully refined dining table. You can also let the original patina be a greater part of the legs while the table top necessarily needs to achieve ability to clean. Whether you use redwood barnboard or vinegar tank fir, a windfall slab or a hardwood door you can present it in trestle style, harvest table, turned legs or sawhorse chic!
